EN 15805:2009 – Particulate air filters for general ventilation – Standardised dimensions
1 Scope
This European Standard specifies the header frame dimensions of air filters for general ventilation to be used in air handling units, air intake system filters for rotary machinery and other applications. This includes pocket filters, rigid (V type) filters and filters to which header frame dimensions are applicable.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in EN 14799:2007 and the following apply.
3.1
face dimensions
width (W) and height (H) of the overall filter
NOTE See Figure 1.
3.2
header frame
integral rigid frame of a filter enabling it to be fastened and sealed against the holding frame
3.3
holding frame
rigid structural frame, part of air handling system into which filters are fastened and sealed
4 Face dimensions
The face dimensions are indicated in Table 1. Permissible tolerances for holding frame dimensions are + 0 mm and – 2 mm. Permissible tolerances for filter face dimensions (header dimensions) are + 3 mm and – 2 mm.
The header frames dimensions shall be 18 mm smaller than the external dimensions of the corresponding holding frames.
For side access systems, the filter channel shall be designed to accommodate filter dimensions and tolerances defined in this standard.
The header frame depth (d) and width (f) are shown in Figure 2. The preferred depth shall be 25 mm. The alternative depth is 20 mm. The tolerance shall be ± 0,5 mm. The width (f) shall be between 16 mm and 21 mm.
